DYW program this weekend

Eight high school juniors are competing for the title of
Distinguished Young Woman of Choctaw County plus many scholarships on
Saturday, March 16.

These young women have been practicing for dance, fitness and talent
with the help of their “Little Sisters” and Ackerman 20th Century

The Distinguished Young Women program will be March 16 at 6:30 p.m.
at the Ty Cobb Complex where everyone attending will enjoy an “Under
the Sea” themed show.

Participants in this year’s program will are competing for
outstanding college-granted scholarships from a variety of
universities and colleges and cash scholarships.
These scholarships may only be used if the contestants choose to
attend the school. An additional award added this year will be a $500
Self-Expression Award. The award is sponsored by HandO Trucking-
Michael and Kimberly Holmes.

The Jewel Shoppe in Louisville is also providing charm bracelets to
the winner and alternates.

Contestants receive help from their chosen “Little Sisters” during
the program. Each contestant chooses “Little Sisters” to help them
backstage with wardrobe changes, hair and makeup and morale support.
