Lucky 13 4-H Club to meet Feb. 7 The Lucky 13 4-H Club meets the first Thursday of the month at 3:30 pm in the 4-H building (old Prairie Opportunity building across from Library) in Ackerman. Historical Highlight Luncheon Feb. 12 Paul Nasekos will be the speaker for French Camp’s February 12 Historical Highlight Luncheon. His topic will be “The Essential Community that Makes FCA Possible.” The luncheon starts at noon at French Camp Presbyterian Church; the public is welcome. Cost is $2.
Paul and his wife Jeannette served as dorm parents at French Camp Academy from 1987 to 1997. Paul worked in public relations, wrote articles for the school paper, taught high school, started a discipleship ministry, and preached often both at the school and around the state of Mississippi. He produced and directed 9 plays and musicals while at FCA, including Fiddler on the Roof, My Fair Lady, The Wizard of Oz and The Miracle Worker. Sweetheart Pageant The 21st Annual Sweetheart Pageant practice and registration will be held February 19 from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. at Weir Attendance Center. Love Harvest True Restoration Christian Church, of Sturgis, is sponsoring a Love Harvest Program on February 23 at 3 p.m. at the Choctaw County Community Center. The speaker for this event will be Rev. Burkey Thompson, pastor of Macedonia M.B.C., of Sallis. There will be choirs and guest soloists on this program.
