Community Blood Drive set

From press reports

Mississippi Blood Services is holding its annual “Super Donor” Blood Drive Promotion from January 28 through February 1. All donors who donate blood at any blood drive or blood draw station will be registered for a chance to win one of three HDTVs to be given away.

Ackerman will be holding a community blood drive at Fred’s Dollar Store on Monday, January 28, from 1 – 7 p.m. The MBS Donor Coach will be set up outside the store. All donors will receive a free T-shirt.

“Donating blood is as easy as sitting back and rolling up your sleeve,” Susan Ates, MBS public relations specialist, said. “But its impact can last a lifetime for patients, their families and their communities.”

Donating blood is safe, simple and it saves lives. Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with signed parental consent, visit our Web site for a copy of the form), weigh at least 110 pounds and have a valid ID.
