Ansley earns Eagle Scout rank

Eagle Scout Ceremony for Jacob Charles Ansley was held on December 1at the French Camp Presbyterian Church in French Camp.

Jacob is the son of Diane Ansley of French Camp and the late Charlie Ansley. Jacob was 4 ½ years old when his Father passed.

His Mother has been the main influence and support for him. Jacob is actively involved in church where he is Brotherhood Leader.

This young man has a strong faith in The Lord Jesus Christ and it shows in his everyday life and interaction with others.

Jacob joined the Webelos in September 2007 and within 6 months had earned his “Arrow of Light”. This takes most guys 2 years to earn. He then entered The Boy Scouts on February 1, 2008, joining Troop 41 of Ackerman.

During June 2012 Jacob joined by two other scouts and three adults from Troop 41 went for the 70 mile hike at The Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, NM. Scouts earn 21 Merit Badges to become Eagle. Jacob has earned 65 Merit Badges as well as being a member of The Order of the Arrow with a rank of Vigil in November 2012. When he was only 15, he received his Eagle Scout Rank on September 6, 2012.

Each Scout does a service project as part of their Eagle Scout Leadership Project. They are the leader and Jacob chose for his project to build an Amphitheatre (14 benches and 1 removable podium) for Camp of The Rising Son in French Camp.

Recently there has been the start of a new troop, Troop 109 of French Camp. Jacob is now the Senior Patrol Leader of this troop.
